Forbes College, one of Princeton University’s five residential colleges, includes a historic main building at its center with various wings and additions built throughout the 20th century. As part of a campus-wide initiative to upgrade residential colleges, HMR Architects designed new dormitory rooms for 20 students within a previously unused attic space. The project also included renovation of the historic building lobby and public spaces, dining room, servery and offices as well as the conversion of single occupant bedrooms into graduate student suites. The project was completed on time within an accelerated 11-week construction schedule that accommodated the academic summer recess.
