Old Queens, Rutgers’ oldest building dating to 1809, houses the university’s administration offices, including the office of the President. Following extensive existing conditions documentation, HMR guided the exterior restoration of this historic building. Work included slate roofing, cornice and cupola elements, and reconstruction of existing unstable brick chimneys. In addition, structural repairs were implemented with new structural steel and masonry in the attic.
